June Recap
A whole month in NYC & very happy about it
Happy Friday everyone!
June was the month of NYC. Not just for me personally (as I did not leave the city all month), but for NYC as a city. From Knicks in five, to the World Cup descending upon the city, to a forecast of actual significant sun, to Pride month and more. This month reinvigorated my meaning of why I live here and love this beautiful, difficult, dynamic city.
I am now in Sag Harbor for the month of July, and it’s amazing the feeling of instant calm I get out here. Lots of fun (& rest) on the books for the month!
AKA my entire month! I had a couple of sets of visitors — first a group of girlfriends, and then my parents. The girlfriends used to live here and my parents have been here a lot, so our time was spent mostly enjoying Brooklyn and going to our typical favorite haunts.

Here were some of my favorite spots:
FINALLY tried The Four Horsemen and it was worth the hype! Max went in line right before they opened on a Friday night and we got a perfectly timed bar seat, so worth trying this summer!
I haven’t been to Polo Bar in awhile, so it was a treat to have a girls night there!
Titán - new spot in DUMBO
Lonnie’s - new spot in Boerum Hill from the Inga’s team; vibey!
On that note, Inga’s just always hits. Went a few times this month and finally had my first Matt Damon sighting (a fellow BK Heights resident!)
Had drinks on the water at both Fireboat (newly opened spot from the Crew team) and Concrete Shoals in Brooklyn Heights multiple times in the glorious summer weather!
Saint Theo’s closed this month. I ate there twice in June to bid it farewell, and it was unfortunate because I actually loved my meals both times (historically was not always enthused by their food!)
We watched Knicks game 5 at Fairfax, and I have nothing but amazing things to say about them. They accommodated my pregnant friend well amidst the madness, have fab food & cocktails, and overall made it the most fun & memorable experience.

As mentioned, we are still on the high from the Knicks win! What a fun time to be in the city and experience the historic win amongst thousands of my fellow New Yorkers in West Village. A moment I will truly never forget.

And the World Cup matches….. FUN to watch all over the city!

Brooklyn has been cuuuuuute in the summertime. Lush green trees offer a natural shade against the historic brownstones, and we have been relishing the backyard time.
And to end June on yet another high note, the Rüfüs Du Sol show at MSG was absolutely incredible. I was able to score amazing seats the day-of (after watching like a hawk for months!)
Big fan of an oversized denim dress
My favorite summer dress that I want in every color & these go-to sandals
Outdoor entertaining essentials: this tablecloth, this serving tray, this pitcher set, and these plastic coupes
Books:
For West Village Book Club we read Girls Our Age, which I really enjoyed. It is about 30 year old girlfriends in the “splinter” era of their friendship, and it served for some great conversation between us all.
Currently reading Greenwich which has been a good little mystery meets extensive wealth summer read!
Shows:
For being home for so long, I don’t feel like I watched much TV?! I finally started up the new season of Rivals which is a fave — about a television rivalry set in the Cotswolds in the 80’s.
Rewatched Gilded Age, this time with Max (who I left behind last time by binge watching all 3 seasons a week I was sick, oops!) Excited for the upcoming new season!
Cheers,
Chelsea
